The troubled AFC leopards will be up against the equally troubled Nairobi city stars in a Kenya premier league clash on Saturday. Leopards have won only one out of their last six matches drawing one and loosing a record four. With 25 points and in a not envied position 11 on the KPL standings, the wildly followed club that has won the Kenya premier league title a record 12 times is staring right in to the eyes of relegation. More disturbing is the fact that Ingwe's quality of the game in recent premier league matches is un-admired compared to perennial rivals Gor-mahia or any other Premier league club for that matter. With just a game into his job Coach Matano complained of lack of bench power claiming that the club did a shoddy Job in recruiting players during the one month recess period. Fears are now top high amongst supporters that the trend of bad results will see the club bid good bye to the country's top flight football for the second time.

Despite Sofapaka’s dominance in the midfield, Mathare united drew first blood in the 13th minute when Anthony Kimani scored from the spot after Kelvin Oliech was brought down in the box by Edgar Ochieng. The match remained balanced in the rest of first half with both teams displaying high quality and classic football. TIME: 19:00HOURS
Nyayo stadium will on Wednesday night host yet another one of modern day Kenyan football classic when 2008 champions Mathare united take on 2009 champions Sofapaka. At stake will be 3 crucial points and considering the competitive nature the league has acquired it goes without saying what a cracker the game will be.
The first leg match between the two teams ended in a goalless draw with mathare crying foul for a denied penalty after Joseph Nyagah was brought down in the box. The then mathare coach Francis kimanzi landed a six months ban when he held the lines-man by his shirt in protest of the denied penalty. Mathare united are yet to beat Sofapaka in the Kenya premier league and will try to avenge last season’s home and away defeat by slowing down Sofapaka’s climb to the top
