Arnold Origi makes Harambee stars final 18
Wednesday, 01 September 2010 06:14

Arnold Origi is on course to reclaim his number one position in the Harambee Stars squad after he made the final list of 18 players set to depart for Guinea Bissau for a tie this weekend.

Almost making a welcome return to the team is Mathare United defense pair of Anthony Kimani and Lloyd Wahome who last played for the team in an African qualifier in 2008. 2008 and 2009 defender of the Year Edgar Ochieng will form the foundation of Kenya’s wall with tested Julius Awilo Owino of Gor Mahia and Sofapaka skipper James Situma also drafted in.

Sony Sugar’s defender David Otieno and outstanding Anthony Kimani of Sofapaka have also made the team as well as Nairobi city Stars Levy Muaka who recently scored for the stars in a recent friendly against Ethiopia.

But Kimani, one for most impressive midfielders in the Kenya Premier League will have to chase a spot in the midfield that also has Patrick Armando Osiako, McDonald Mariga, Robert Mambo, Gor’s undoubted duo of Blackberry and Kevin Daddy Omondi.

The strike force will be led by Kenya’s per excellence Dennis Oliech. Sofapaka’s key men, Allan Wanga and seasoned scorer John “Barry” Baraza are in the team.

Goalkeepers: Arnold Origi (Moss FK, Norway) & Wilson Obungu (Sofapaka)

Defenders: Lloyd Wahome & Anthony Kimani (both Mathare United), Edgar Ochieng & James Situma (both Sofapaka), Julius Owino (Gor Mahia) & David Otieno (Sony Sugar)

Midfielders: MacDonald Mariga (Inter Milan, Italy), Patrick Osiako (Mjallby, Sweden),  George “Blackberry” Odhiambo & Kevin Omondi (both Gor Mahia), Anthony “Muki” Kimani (Sofapaka), Robert Mambo (Umea FC, Sweden) & Levy Muaka (Nairobi City Stars)

Strikers: Dennis Oliech (AJ Auxerre, France), John Baraza & Allan Wanga (both Sofapaka).
