The work of any football coach

Is to deliver a win in a match

Transform a team of players

Into a cohesive winning outfit

Once the coach fails to deliver

His days become numbered

The fans become impatient

And he must prepare to exit

What he achieved in the gone past

Does not matter at present

What matters at the moment

Is the current state of form

Coaching must be the most insecure job

Today they sing your praises

Tomorrow they bay for your blood

All they want is victory

Anything short of that sorry

The coach is paid for results

And the results must be consistent

So when a team doesn't perform

Or when the performance starts to drop

The coach must pack and go!!
