AFC Leopards went on top of the Kenyan Premier League table on goal difference with a 2-0 win over Oserian FC on Saturday evening at the Nyayo National Stadium. The win stretched Leopards' unbeaten run to 16 league matches. Goals from internationals Allan Wanga and Mike Baraza in either half were enough to wrap up the important three points.

The match started on a slow note with both sides playing cautiously, but it is Ingwe who showed signs of taking charge early in the game. Wanga, on his second start at Ingwe, headed home in the 20th minute from a Salim Khamis Kinje freekick. Wanga also came close to scoring on several other instances, a performance that saw him named Man of the Match.

After starting on the bench for the second match in a row, Mike Baraza came on for Charles Okwemba in the second half. In the 77th minute, Baraza received a pass on the right wing from Jimmy Bagaye, run and rounded Oserian custodian Enock Obong'o before slotting into an empty net for the second. Former Leopard player Paul Odhiambo was tighty marked throughout the match such he couldn't test keeper Patrick Matasi.

Without Jonas Nahimana, who is in Rwanda for national duty, Jan Koops handed Amon Muchiri his league debut for Ingwe. Eric Masika and Martin Imbalambala played in central defence while Muchiri played in midfield.

The win leaves Ingwe on seven points after three matches, same with Sofapaka who beat Sony Sugar 1-0 in Kisii earlier today.
